AEW’s overseas festivities this week will be without Taz.
The former wrestler turned full-time commentator for AEW noted Tuesday that he’ll be absent from this week’s shows, using the week to handle some doctor’s appointments and rest.
I will be off this week, a combo of doctors appointments/imaging test on a couple of future surgeries, some R&R & most importantly my new knee does not cooperate to well w/very long flights at the moment.
Hope u all enjoy #AEWDynamite & #ForbiddenDoor !— taz (@OfficialTAZ) August 19, 2025
“I will be off this week,” Taz wrote on X. “A combo of doctors appointments/imaging test on a couple of future surgeries, some R&R & most importantly my new knee does not cooperate to well w/very long flights at the moment. Hope u all enjoy #AEWDynamite & #ForbiddenDoor!”
Taz underwent a total knee replacement surgery last October.
AEW is scheduled to present Forbidden Door this Sunday from The O2 in London, England. Just a few days prior, the promotion will be at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, for a taping of Dynamite and Collision.
The company will be back stateside on August 27, when a multi-week residency at the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania kicks off. Considering the deep ties Taz has to the venue, it’s more than likely that he’ll be back for that stretch.
Taz has been a frequent voice on AEW programming since late 2019, appearing on weekly programming and pay-per-view events.
