Mercedes Moné has spoken of her excitement at her close friend Naomi’s pregnancy.
Speaking to Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI, Moné revealed that Naomi told her, “You’re going to be an auntie.”
Naomi and Moné have remained good friends since the pair parted ways with WWE in 2022.
The two handed in their WWE Tag Team Titles during the May 16, 2022, episode of Raw, and were suspended before leaving the company.
Naomi landed in TNA before making her return to WWE in 2024. Moné worked the indies and STARDOM before signing with AEW in 2024.
On her friend’s upcoming motherhood, Moné said:
I’m excited. I was so excited for the news, and she told me you’re going to be an auntie, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I cannot wait to see a little baby Trinity.’ And I really hope it’s a girl. But I just honestly hope it’s so healthy, and she has a healthy pregnancy.
She is my sister for life. I am so proud of her and everything that she has accomplished, and it’s just so perfect to see how far she’s come and just to experience this next chapter in her life and her career. I’m along for the ride as a fan, for her. I mean, cheering her on all the way from AEW. So, it’s amazing.
Naomi announced her pregnancy during the August 18 edition of WWE Raw, and relinquished her Women’s World Championship.
