AEW Dynamite viewership drops 18 percent for Forbidden Door go-home show

The August 20 edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 565,000 viewers on TBS.

The final episode of Dynamite before this Sunday’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view saw its total viewership fall 18 percent from the previous week.

Per Wrestlenomics, in the 18-49 demographic, Dynamite posted a 0.16 rating. This figure represents 210,000 viewers and is a six percent decrease from the August 13 episode.

This week’s total viewership was the lowest for the program since April 23 and its second-lowest audience of 2025.

Dynamite ranked approximately seventh for original cable telecasts on Wednesday evening. The night was topped by a new episode of South Park on Comedy Central, which drew 845,000 viewers and a 0.34 rating.

The episode opened with its viewership peak in the first quarter-hour. The 8:00 – 8:15 pm block, featuring a segment with Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi, drew 645,000 viewers.

Viewership hit a low of 543,000 during the 9:00 – 9:15 pm quarter-hour, which showcased a match between FTR and Brodido. The audience rebounded for the main event, however, growing five percent for the final full quarter-hour, featuring Mercedes Moné and Athena vs. Alex Windsor and Toni Storm.

The show was taped several hours in advance from Glasgow, Scotland. Viewership data does not include statistics from the show’s simulcast on Max.
