Report: New details on UFC card scheduled for the White House

The Wall Street Journal is reporting new details on the UFC’s plans to stage a card at the White House next year.

WSJ is reporting that the proposed event to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence could take place next June, instead of July. This detail was confirmed by The Hill after speaking with a spokesperson from the White House.

Additional details from the report state that the Octagon would be set up on the south lawn with large screens erected to accommodate the “thousands of spectators” on the grounds of the White House. As well, fighters would be expected to weigh in the day before at the Lincoln Memorial with additional events scheduled throughout fight week.

The WSJ adds that Ivanka Trump is involved with the planning of the event.
