Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight ranks #1 in ten countries on Netflix

Netflix’s presentation of the Saul Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight topped all its English-language shows for the week.

The streamer’s weekly Tudum chart lists the fight broadcast at #1 among TV Shows for the week, with 17.7 million views and 69.6 million hours viewed. It ranked second overall among all Netflix programming for the week behind KPop Demon Hunters at 22.6 million views in its thirteenth week.

This was Netflix’s third live boxing event following Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in November 2024 and the trilogy bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano this past July.

Netflix announced that Paul vs. Tyson had 46.6 million views and 224.8 million hours viewed. Taylor vs. Serrano 3 was listed at 2.8 million views and 9.4 million hours viewed.  

The boxing broadcast began at 9 p.m. ET with three fights before the main event, which started at 12:55 a.m.

Canelo vs. Crawford ranked #1 in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Venezuela, and the United States.

It ranked in the top ten in 47 countries, including the U.K., Canada, Ireland, Finland, Ukraine, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Qatar, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

Netflix released an announcement on Monday stating that the main event between Canelo and Crawford reached over 41 million viewers worldwide using the VideoAmp data service. Netflix said the main event peaked with more than 24 million concurrent streams and an estimated average minute audience of 36.6 million live + same day viewership, per ESPN.

On the broadcast, they announced an attendance of 70,482 at Allegiant Stadium and a live gate of $47,231,887, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
