Ridge Holland is in recovery after undergoing surgery on Friday for a Lisfranc injury he suffered last week.
The 37-year-old posted a video update to his social media on Saturday, discussing his recovery and mindset after the setback.
The injury occurred during a match against Moose at TNA Wrestling’s television tapings in Edmonton. Holland later confirmed it was a Lisfranc injury, which affects the middle part of the foot that helps stabilize the arch.
The contest was stopped after he was unable to put weight on his left leg and had to be helped to the back.
In his video update, Holland reflected on the timing of the injury, which came shortly after he began working with TNA.
For the past seven years, it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride with the wrestling business. Just as I start to get rolling, something happens — same again this time. With TNA, a couple of good matches and then this happens. But again, we heal, we recover, we march forward, and I’m looking forward to coming back and getting in the best shape of my life.
Holland added that he is using his struggles with injuries as a lesson for his children about perseverance. He also thanked his fans and the Andrews Orthopedic Team in Birmingham, Alabama.
The night before the injury occurred, Holland lost to Mike Santana at TNA Victory Road. He had also been competing for EVOLVE in recent weeks.
