Professional wrestling legend turned weekly AEW commentator Taz will be absent from TV due to an upcoming surgery.

Taz noted on X this week that he will soon undergo shoulder replacement surgery. The procedure will keep him away from his job as a commentator for AEW Dynamite, he noted.

“I will be having total shoulder replacement surgery in a short time,” he said on Wednesday morning. “Therefore I will be off AEW Dynamite for some time. See you soon.”

Taz, a wrestler whose years with ECW earned him an induction into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame earlier this year, has been a frequent part of AEW’s commentary rotation since 2019.

Taz mainly serves as a commentator for Wednesday’s Dynamite show. He appeared on this week’s special “Title Tuesday” episode alongside Bryan Danielson and Excalibur.
