Saturday’s taped edition of AEW Collision opened with a match in which Kota Ibushi appeared to suffer a leg injury.
This week’s show was recorded from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday.
As reported earlier in the week by those in attendance, around 12 minutes into his match with Josh Alexander, Ibushi slipped from the turnbuckle to the floor as Alexander attempted to lift him.
He was counted out as he was tended to by medical staff.
In what appeared to be a planned spot, Mark Davis ran out to further attack Ibushi, only to be ran off by Kenny Omega, who was wielding a trash can.
Mark Davis was here to attack the injured @Ibushi_Kota, but @KennyOmegamanX wasn't about to let that happen!

Reports from those on the scene during the recording stated that Ibushi was stretchered to the back, although this was not shown on the broadcast.
Other reports stated that AEW President Tony Khan addressed the crowd shortly after the incident, thanking fans for being respectful as Ibushi was being tended to. This did not make the broadcast either.
Shortly after the match was shown, Khan took to social media to wish Ibushi the best:
We are all very grateful for The Golden Star @ibushi_kota.
In my opinion, he’s one of the greatest wrestlers that I’ve ever seen. He is adored by the AEW locker room + fans worldwide.
We wish him the best as he recovers from the leg injury he suffered on #AEWCollision tonight!

The exact nature of Ibushi’s injury remains unconfirmed, but it has been reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as a broken leg.
