Kota Ibushi underwent surgery following his injury during the AEW Collision taping on Wednesday.
Ibushi posted an update on Instagram, confirming that he broke his femur and stated the surgery was a success.
In his post, he mentioned the health struggles he has endured over the past five years, but ended the post with, “It can’t end like this,” and praised Tony Khan.

The match aired on Saturday night on TNT, with Ibushi slipping off the shoulders of Alexander on the turnbuckle and landing on the floor. The referee counted Ibushi out, followed by Mark Davis running out and attacking Ibushi with punches as Kenny Omega came to the aid of his former partner.
There is no timetable for a return for the 43-year-old, who has been hamstrung by injuries since 2021.
