Konosuke Takeshita’s first defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship headlines the Tanahashi Final Homecoming event.

Takeshita won the championship from Zack Sabre Jr. on Monday at King of Pro Wrestling and was immediately challenged by former champ Hirooki Goto. Takeshita stated he didn’t want to go to the Tokyo Dome without any title defenses, and therefore, they will meet on November 2 in Gifu.

Hiroshi Tanahashi will be featured in a championship match of his own as he challenges new IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, Yota Tsuji. After Tsuji’s title win at KOPW, he approached Tanahashi on commentary and held up the newly won title.

The show in Gifu, which takes the spot of Power Struggle, will include the finals of the Super Jr. Tag League.
