Over a decade after their last meeting, Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva will reignite their rivalry inside a boxing ring.

Former UFC Champions Weidman and Silva will face off in a six-round heavyweight boxing match on November 14, per a recent report from Andreas Hale of ESPN. The matchup wiill take place on the undercard of a Netflix-broadcasted bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Weidman shocked the world in 2013 when he scored a second-round knockout victory to end Silva’s dominant run as the UFC Middleweight Champion. When they met in a rematch months later, a nasty broken leg forced Silva to retire from the fight after just over six minutes of action.

In the late years of their careers, they’ll face off one more time.

Silva has been pursuing boxing matchups since 2020, when he officially stepped away from MMA. The 50-year-old has appeared in the ring against the aforementioned Paul, as well as Tito Ortiz, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and Chael Sonnen.

Weidman announced his retirement from the UFC early this year, one month after his last appearance for the promotion. He has made it clear since that he intends to keep fighting, briefly signing with the failed Global Fight League (GFL) upstart promotion before agreeing to the upcoming boxing match.

The 41-year-old wrestler will be making his first-ever boxing appearance in the upcoming bout.
