The former Jazmyn Nyx spoke about her exit at WWE over a disagreement regarding a new contract.
The former NXT performer (real name Jade Gentile) appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show at Uncrowned and commented on the breakdown in negotiations for a new deal, which saw the Fatal Influence member written off programming.
It was kind of like a long process for me. Because it was like a back-and-forth situation, but yeah, basically, they reach out and say, ‘Hey, here’s what we are offering you for the next three years, ’ and you either accept right then and there, or you try to negotiate, and I tried to negotiate. The offer stood as it was, went back a couple of times…no budging.
Gentile was asked what she was looking for, and she replied, “I was just looking for any compensation…I wanted a raise,” and went on to state they were not “miles apart” but could have met in the middle somewhere, but they were not adjusting their offer. She indicated that any type of raise would have worked, but they were not offering her a raise from the prior deal.
Obviously, some people make more, some people make less, that’s just how business is. I felt that if they thought that was my value at the time, then I didn’t see it changing much. Just because I’ve been on TV for two years, I’ve been wrestling main roster people, just a lot, there’s been a lot that’s put into it. I felt like if that wasn’t enough for cost of living, at least then I just didn’t think that I was valued much, so you have to be where you are valued.
The 27-year-old confirmed her departure from NXT last month after signing with the company in 2022 and joining Fatal Influence last year.
