Oba Femi returned with his focus on NXT Champion Ricky Saints, and seemingly plans to confront him in New York City.
A social media post shared by WWE this week showed Femi promoting his upcoming appearances on NXT’s tour. Among the dates Femi promoted was an appearance at NXT Gold Rush, a two-week TV special beginning next Tuesday at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York.
“As you can see, The Ruler is back!” Femi said. “And not just for one night only, because I will be in Chicago, Illinois. I will be in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I will be in St. Paul, Minnesota. And then The Ruler has set its sights on Ricky Saints. Ricky, I’ll see you at Gold Rush.”
After weeks off TV, Femi made his return to NXT on Tuesday evening, appearing following a title victory for Saints over Trick Williams. While Femi didn’t get to talk before the show was abruptly cut off, commentator Vic Joseph made it clear that Femi was back to try and reclaim the NXT title: “The Ruler is here for one more reign,” he said.
