Show Report

Swerve Strickland vs. Josh Alexander

The show opened with the return of Swerve Strickland, who faced Josh Alexander. Strickland targeted Alexander’s arm early, but Alexander retaliated by dropping Strickland knee-first onto the announce table. Strickland eventually secured the victory after hitting a House Call that knocked off Alexander’s headgear, followed by the JML Driver.

After the match, Strickland addressed the Cardiff crowd. He stated he did not return to fight the Don Callis Family but to reclaim the AEW World Championship, declaring himself the top contender.

Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander vs. Sisters of Sin

Before the match began, The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) attacked Hayter and Statlander. Once the match officially started, the makeshift team of Statlander and Hayter controlled much of the action. Hayter secured the win for her team by pinning Hart after hitting the Hayterade lariat.

Following the match, Hayter challenged Statlander to a title match at Worlds End. Backstage, Statlander accepted the challenge, telling Hayter to “prove it”.

Continental Classic Blue League: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita

In a battle of league leaders, CMLL World Champion Claudio Castagnoli faced IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita. The hard-hitting bout featured heavy exchanges of uppercuts and forearms. Castagnoli utilized a Giant Swing and a Sharpshooter, but Takeshita survived.

As the twenty-minute time limit approached, Castagnoli countered a Raging Fire attempt into a Neutralizer for a near fall. Time expired before a winner could be decided, resulting in a draw that earned both men one point, keeping them tied at the top of the Blue League.

Championship Celebration & Battle Royal News

AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron came to the ring for a toast, joined by Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa. Mercedes Moné interrupted the celebration, insulting the crowd by stating “Wales isn’t even a real country”. This confrontation set up an eight-woman tag team match for Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Backstage, MVP announced that Bobby Lashley is out with an injury. He revealed that Shelton Benjamin would take Lashley’s place in the upcoming Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. Ricochet also gave a promo declaring his entry into the battle royal, stating that “Ricky Two Belts” had a nice ring to it.

Continental Classic Gold League: Mike Bailey vs. Kevin Knight

JetSpeed tag team partners Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight faced off in a Gold League tournament match. The two exchanged high-flying offense, including a coast-to-coast dropkick from Knight. Bailey ultimately secured the three points after hitting a spinning kick followed by the Rubik’s Cube for the pinfall.

TNT Championship: Mark Briscoe vs. Daniel Garcia

In the main event, Mark Briscoe defended the TNT Championship against Daniel Garcia. The match saw interference from Garcia’s allies; Marina Shafir was ejected from ringside after grabbing Briscoe’s leg, and Wheeler Yuta snuck in to deliver a low blow to the champion.

Despite the interference and a piledriver from Garcia, Briscoe kicked out. He recovered to hit the Jay Driller to win the match and retain his title.

To close the show, commentary ran down the card for Wednesday’s Dynamite Holiday Bash, confirming the three-way World Title contract signing.
