Chris Jericho did not rule out a WWE return during a live stream that aired concurrently with AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view on Saturday.
Jericho hosted a ‘Christmas Dinner With The Winnipeggers’ special on his YouTube channel on December 27.
The episode was a one-off revival of a show that Jericho and his friends Dave Spivak and Ryan Rybo had streamed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the broadcast, a fan submitted a Super Chat comment reminiscing about Jericho’s 1999 WWE debut and expressing hope for a return to the company.
His response was simply: “You never know, right? You never know.”
The brief comment can be viewed at the relevant point in the video below.
The former AEW World Champion has not appeared on AEW television since April. His last major storyline concluded when he disbanded his ‘Learning Tree’ faction, walking out on stablemates Big Bill and Bryan Keith following a defeat.
Jericho’s current contract with AEW is set to expire at the end of 2025. The 55-year-old’s absence from creative plans throughout the latter half of the year has fueled speculation regarding his future.
During his hiatus, Jericho has focused on outside projects, including touring with his band, Fozzy.
AEW President Tony Khan has expressed his desire for Jericho to remain with the company. He has stated that he hopes Jericho’s final matches will take place in AEW, acknowledging the veteran’s role as a “founding father” of the promotion.
