The AEW tag team of Ortiz and Eddie Kingston are planning to launch a pro wrestling training school.

Ortiz revealed the news during a recent interview on the AEW Unrestricted podcast. He stated that the project is driven by a desire to pass on knowledge acquired from his own mentors in the industry.

The wrestler explained that he gained experience coaching while recently sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle.

Me and Eddie are in the process of opening up our own school. Coaching and teaching is…an immense passion of mine. Because I’ve had so many great mentors in wrestling and I just want to pass on that knowledge —I don’t want it to be wasted.

To prepare for the venture, the pair are currently holding seminars on the independent circuit. This includes an upcoming session on March 1 for Pro Wrestling Junkie in New Jersey. Ortiz described these seminars as a way to refine their curriculum.

He added that the school is aiming to avoid the “carny” pitfalls of some training centers. The plan includes bringing in guest instructors such as Jerry Lynn, Homicide, and Billy Gunn to provide varied perspectives.

No timeframe or location for the school was provided during the interview.
