Wrestle Kingdom 20 was New Japan’s most successful event at the Tokyo Dome since April 1998, when Antonio Inoki retired. The show drew an announced attendance of 46,913 with an expanded configuration.
The show was promoted around the retirement of Hiroshi Tanahashi, who ended his twenty-six-year career by wrestling rival Kazuchika Okada in the main event. Wrestle Kingdom also featured the debut of Olympic Judo gold medalist Aaron Wolf and led to New Japan receiving a prime time airing on TV-Asahi and its first prime time airing of the show since 2004.
The documentary will be released on New Japan’s YouTube channel.
