Bianca Belair provides post-surgery update: ‘I can finally start to put this behind me’

Former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair shared a positive update on Thursday following surgery.

Belair has been out of action since Wrestlemania 41 last April, when she suffered a finger injury in what has been considered by many as a freak accident. In the triple threat match with IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, Belair left Las Vegas with a broken knuckle.

10 months after the setback, Belair was able to get surgery for the injury this week. The update she shared on Instagram afterward reflected on how tough things have been for her over the past year, and her optimism about the future.

10 months post injury, 8 months of rehab, 5 Dr’s Later…
And we are FINALLY here.
Now I can finally start to put this behind me.
Thank you so much Dr. Desai for hearing me and fixing me!

Fingers and JOINTS are complicated, frustrating, confusing, essential… if you don’t get it… consider yourself lucky and I hope you never have to find out.
Maybe one day I’ll go into detail but it’s a lot.

Thank you to those who have sent so much love my way and continue to.

The injury has marked the longest setback of Belair’s professional wrestling career thus far. She spent years as a consistent worker for WWE, never missing more than two consecutive months of in-ring action since her 2016 debut.

While it still seems as though Belair is some distance away from her in-ring return, the update she provided on Thursday was a significant development in the right direction.
