GoFundMe campaign launched for Florida independent wrestler detained by ICE

Nicolth Hernandez-Lucero, an independent wrestler in Florida, has been detained by ICE, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist.

Nicolth Hernandez-Lucero, 24, was stopped by ICE officials while she was driving home in Fort Lauderdale this past Wednesday. She called her husband, Noah Lazega, who recorded the interaction between Nicolth and the agent, per the reporting from NBC 6 in Florida.

Hernandez-Lucero is originally from Colombia and has been in the United States for the past nine years, and married a U.S. citizen in December. She works as a technician at a hospital in Florida.

Her lawyer states she entered the U.S. legally and is going through the asylum process with her family.

She is being detained in Pompano Beach and is awaiting a court date.

Lazega has launched a GoFundMe campaign:

She is currently being held in a detention facility, and the circumstances of her detention have been incredibly distressing for our family and everyone who knows her. The legal process to fight for her release is complex and the fees are rapidly accruing, putting a tremendous financial strain on us during an already difficult time.

So far, the campaign has raised over $18,000, including a large donation from Becky Lynch.

Hernandez-Lucero was trained by David “Gangrel” Heath and began wrestling in 2018.
