AEW will make a slight change to its weekly TV programming next month, adapting to the scheduling demands of TBS and TNT’s annual coverage of the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.
While AEW Collision usually airs at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday evenings on TNT, that won’t be the case for an episode in mid-March. Instead, the promotion will present a pair of one-hour “Slam Dunk” broadcasts between Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. The change was confirmed in a recent Warner Bros. Discovery press release.
The pre-taped shows are set to air at 11 p.m. ET, although their start time will ultimately depend on when the basketball game before them wraps up.
Both Slam Dunk episodes will be recorded earlier that week in Fresno, California.
AEW has used the two-night Slam Dunk format for Collision before, as the company are no stranger to getting its programming shifted around by March Madness.
Apart from the Slam Dunk Collision change, all of AEW’s weekly TV in March will take place during its regular timeslots.
We also learned as part of the new press release that a one-hour Zero Hour broadcast will take place for AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view on March 15.
AEW had previously toyed with the idea of putting its PPV pre-shows on TV, airing a few “Tailgate Brawl” broadcasts in 2025. They reverted back to their usual format for Worlds End in December, simply putting their main pre-show on Youtube. With no Tailgate Brawl listed on TNT or TBS, it seems that’s the plan here as well.
