Sol Ruca secured victory over Zaria at Saturday’s NXT Stand & Deliver premium live event.
After the match, Vic Joseph on commentary wondered aloud where Ruca’s “wave of momentum will take her next.”
The contest stemmed from the recent ending of their friendship and subsequent tension on NXT television.
Ruca initiated the offense before the opening bell with a dropkick. Early in the match, the action spilled to the outside. Zaria took control by sending Ruca crashing into the announce desk and executing a fireman’s carry to drop her face-first onto the steel steps.
Back in the ring, Zaria delivered a German suplex and a fallaway slam. Ruca eventually countered a body drop with a double stomp to Zaria’s midsection to halt the momentum. The two competitors subsequently exchanged strikes, culminating in Ruca delivering a German suplex out of the corner.
Later in the bout, the competitors fought near the entrance ramp. Ruca evaded a chokeslam attempt and executed her Sol Snatcher finisher on the steel ramp. Zaria recovered and speared Ruca back inside the ring through the middle ropes. Ruca landed a second Sol Snatcher, but Zaria kicked out of the pinfall attempt.
Zaria subsequently countered a springboard maneuver with a mid-air spear and followed up with an F5. Ruca survived the pinfall attempt.
In the final sequence, Zaria positioned Ruca on her shoulders while standing on the middle turnbuckle. Ruca escaped the hold with elbow strikes, executed an avalanche X-Factor, and followed with a third Sol Snatcher to secure the pinfall victory.
