Alberto El Patron conditionally released from prison

A Mexican judge released Alberto El Patron (José Alberto Rodríguez Chucuan) from custody on Saturday following a legal agreement.

Mexican newspaper El Universal reported the details of the arrangement. The wrestler secured conditional release after his wife agreed to a legal form of leniency and received a payment of one million pesos. A control judge ordered his release following the conclusion of the hearing.

According to Milenio, the court granted a conditional suspension that allows him to face the remainder of the legal process outside of jail. Rodríguez spent the earlier part of the week detained at the La Pila prison facility.

The court imposed strict precautionary measures on Rodríguez in exchange for his release. He must attend rehabilitation therapy for aggressors and maintain distance from the victim. The crime of repeated family violence carries a potential penalty of one to seven years in the jurisdiction.

Police officers arrested Rodríguez on April 6. State Civil Guard agents answered an emergency call from his partner at a residence in the Lomas del Tecnológico area. Responders told the court they observed visible injuries on the woman’s face and arms upon their arrival.

The criminal case against Rodríguez continues despite his release from detention. Officials have not announced his next scheduled court date. However, October 29 has been set as the date for verifying compliance with his release conditions.
