The “Demon” left Vegas with the win.
Finn Balor, fighting as his “Demon” alter ego, took down former Judgment Day teammate Dominik Mysterio in a 10-minute street fight as part of Sunday’s Wrestlemania 42 card from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After scoring a dropkick to Mysterio while a chair was wrapped around his head, Balor finished the job by scoring his top-rope Coup de Grace double-stomp finisher, putting Mysterio through a table in the process.
Mysterio had his moments earlier in the bout, wrapping a chair around Balor’s head then connecting with a 619. A follow-up frogsplash off the top from Mysterio would only render a two-count.
A feud between these two kicked off earlier this year when Balor was ousted from the Judgment Day, ending his long-time partnership with Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and others. In an attempt to teach Mysterio a lesson on Sunday, Balor brought back his “Demon” persona, which has been sparingly used over the years.
The stakes for Sunday’s match were raised on the afternoon of the show, when it was announced that a Street Fight stipulation was added to it. Before then, it was expected to be a normal singles bout.
