MFT faction members JC Mateo and Tonga Loa are reportedly gone from WWE.
Fightful, in its reporting on the departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, stated that Mateo and Loa are also leaving the company.
Both performers have been moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com.
Mateo and Tonga Loa had been aligned with Solo Sikoa as part of MFT alongside Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga on the SmackDown brand.
JC Mateo
Mateo, real name Jeff Cobb, is a veteran of over 15 years in professional wrestling and a former amateur wrestler who represented Guam in freestyle wrestling at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He spent the bulk of his career on the independent circuit and in Japan, where he competed for New Japan Pro-Wrestling from 2017 as a member of the United Empire faction. His NJPW accolades include three IWGP Tag Team Championship reigns, a NEVER Openweight Championship and an NJPW World Television Championship. He also held the PWG World Championship and the ROH Television Championship, and previously worked in Lucha Underground under the ring name Matanza Cueto.
Cobb signed with WWE in 2025 and debuted at Backlash that May, aligning with the Bloodline. He was given the ring name JC Mateo the following week on SmackDown. He held the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Tama Tonga before losing the titles to Damian Priest and R-Truth on the March 20 episode of SmackDown.
Tonga Loa
Tonga Loa, real name Tevita Fifita, is the son of WWE legend Haku and the brother of Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga. He worked in Florida Championship Wrestling under several names before being promoted to the main roster in 2011 as Camacho, partnering with Hunico. He was released from the company in June 2014.
After a stint in TNA Wrestling, Fifita joined NJPW in 2016 as Tanga Loa, teaming with his brother Tama Tonga to form the Guerrillas of Destiny within the Bullet Club. The pair became seven-time IWGP Tag Team Champions and also captured the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
He returned to WWE in May 2024 at Backlash under the ring name Tonga Loa, once again aligning with the Bloodline. He and Tama Tonga held the WWE Tag Team Championships for 84 days before losing them to the Motor City Machine Guns in October 2024. He suffered a torn bicep at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2024 and returned at Night of Champions in June 2025.
