Raja Jackson agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors to close his criminal case on Wednesday. The New York Post was the first to report on the deal.
The 26-year-old son of UFC legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson pleaded no contest to a single felony count of battery with serious bodily injury at a preliminary hearing. Raja Jackson also admitted to two special allegations, including personal infliction of great bodily injury and engaging in violent conduct.
Jackson is slated to be sentenced in June, and the rep for the District Attorney’s Office told The New York Post his “anticipated sentence is 90 days actual county jail; restitution of $81,703.38; and two years formal probation.”
Jackson’s case stemmed from an August incident at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event last year.
Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith, struck Jackson with a beer can, which Jackson took issue with. Smith was immediately informed that “he’s not a worker,” and they had to hold Jackson back and calm him. Smith and Jackson reportedly settled things and agreed to an in-ring spot, where Jackson would attack Smith in the ring.
Jackson entered the ring and slammed Smith to the mat, knocking him unconscious. He then proceeded to deliver more than 20 strikes to an unresponsive Smith before others intervened. The entire incident was live-streamed on Kick.
Smith was hospitalized after the attack, Knokx Pro Wrestling lost its WWE ID accreditation, and Rikishi, the founder of Knokx Pro Wrestling, announced his leave from the promotion.
