Rhea Ripley revealed she underwent knee surgery.
Ripley took to Instagram and posted a picture of her leg in a brace. She also wrote a lengthy caption about how surgery was not her first option, but it was needed.
Life update.
After just under 14 year in wrestling and doing sports my entire life… It’s caught up to me. Surgery was never a first option for me, but it got to the point that it was needed…
First one down…
Hopefully no more…I’ve survived, now it’s time to start thriving again so I can get back to what I love to do!
See you all down the road.
Ripley revealed last month that she had a meniscus tear and that her timeline was “up in the air.” She did not reveal a timeline in her Instagram post, but she likely will be out for multiple months to recover.
The 29-year-old won the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42, and Chelsea Green won a ladder match at SummerSlam to become the interim WWE Women’s Champion, with the premise that she would eventually face Ripley to crown a unified champion.
As of Thursday afternoon, it is unknown what the plans for the championship will be.
