AEW has announced several high-profile additions to its upcoming events following Saturday’s broadcast of Fairway to Hell.
The updates include a major substitution for the next episode of Dynamite and new participants for Double or Nothing.
Konosuke Takeshita will challenge Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship this Wednesday. Takeshita replaces Kazuchika Okada in the scheduled contest.
Manager Don Callis stated that Okada has traveled to Japan for personal reasons. The two Don Callis Family members remain scheduled to wrestle each other at Double or Nothing.
The company also confirmed most of the lineup for the Stadium Stampede match on May 24. Jack Perry announced he will team with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks.
They will face The Demand, Mark Davis, and a final mystery member of the Don Callis Family.
Perry formed the team after Ricochet interfered to help Davis win the AEW National Championship from him earlier in the broadcast.
A four-way encounter for the AEW Women’s World Championship is now official for the upcoming pay-per-view. Thekla will defend her title against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter.
Wednesday’s Dynamite in Asheville, North Carolina, will feature Will Ospreay returning to action to face Ace Austin. The broadcast will also include an appearance by MJF and the bracket reveals for the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments.
