WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has defeated Jacob Fatu in their Tribal Combat match at Clash in Italy.
The main event match featured a no-disqualification, no-count-out stipulation. Under the rules, the loser must officially acknowledge the winner as Tribal Chief. With the victory, Reigns retains his championship and his status as the Head of the Table.
Following an extended initial staredown, the encounter quickly spilled into the arena crowd. Fatu gained an early advantage by throwing the champion into a staircase railing. Reigns quickly fought back near a concession stand, blinding his opponent with a bucket of ice and tossing boxed snacks into the seating area.
The physicality escalated when the action returned to the ringside area. Both men traded control while trying to position a table inside the ring. Fatu eventually introduced the steel steps into the ring, but Reigns responded by hurling them over the top rope at his challenger’s head.
Reigns later neutralized Fatu’s Tongan Death Grip submission by utilizing a toolbox from beneath the ring. He then repeatedly smashed Fatu’s right hand against the steel steps.
The fight continued back to the arena floor, where Reigns drove Fatu through the ringside barricade with a spear. Back inside the ring, the champion removed three turnbuckle pads.
Fatu tried to reapply his submission grip, but his damaged hand hampered him. However, he rallied by executing a pop-up Samoan Drop and a top-rope moonsault for a near-fall.
After driving Fatu’s head into the exposed turnbuckle iron multiple times, Reigns executed a spear through a table positioned in the corner. Fatu stood up first to continue the fight, but the champion immediately ran the ropes and delivered a final spear to secure the pinfall victory.
Following the decision, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso entered the ring to present Reigns with the traditional Ula Fala. As the faction celebrated, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Talla Tonga watched the aftermath intently from the crowd.
Fatu is now bound to serve and obey the champion. Jey Uso directed a hesitant Fatu to leave the ringside area alongside the victorious group. An official acknowledgment ceremony is set to take place tomorrow night on Monday Night Raw.
