Shun Skywalker surprisingly announced he will leave Dragongate.

The 30-year-old cut a promo following his match at Rainbow Gate at Korakuen Hall. He announced he would leave Dragongate to “go back to the heavens.” The announcement shocked fans in attendance, his tag team partner HYO, and general manager Ryo Saito.

Skywalker has previously teased leaving the promotion in character, but Dragongate English commentator Jae posted on social media that the promo was not part of an angle, with hopes of his last matches to be in his hometown and at Kobe World. It is unclear if the final night of Rainbow Gate at Korakuen Hall will actually be Skywalker’s last date with the promotion.

A graduate of the Dragongate Dojo, Skywalker officially debuted for the promotion in 2016 and became one of Dragon Gate’s top stars in the 2020s following his excursion in Mexico. He is a former three-time Open the Dream Gate Champion, a former Open the Twin Gate Champion, and a former four-time Open the Triangle Gate Champion.
