Former UFC star Dustin Poirier found himself in some legal trouble over the weekend.
37-year-old Poirier was arrested in Georgia on Sunday night and hit with a misdemeanor public intoxication charge (formally known as public drunkenness) in Georgia, TMZ reported today.
Poirier was reportedly cuffed around 6 p.m., then released roughly four hours later. TMZ also noted that he made his first court appearance this morning.
No details on what caused the arrest have been confirmed just yet.
Poirier retired from MMA last year, closing out a lengthy UFC run which saw him hang with the best at 145 and 155 pounds for over a decade. He became a fan favorite over his more than 30-fight run in the company, squaring off against prolific names like Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Islam Makhachev.
