Shortly after this year’s AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view wrapped up, a post-show media scrum aired live on Youtube. Along with comments from Tony Khan, winners from Sunday night like Will Ospreay, Thekla, and Mercedes Moné also appeared.

A full replay of the scrum can be watched here:

Here’s a recap of the top comments from the press conference.

Dave Meltzer asked Tony Khan about WWE running shows head-to-head with All In this year. Khan didn’t mention anything about WWE in his reply, instead focusing on what AEW could bring on that day: “Not a lot I can do other than just hope we have a very good show and plan and prepare that we’ll have a very good show.”

Khan said he is a fan of IWGP champ Yota Tsuji and would love to have him in AEW. He acknowledged Tsuji’s comments about not wanting to defend his title at Forbidden Door, but noted that Tsuji also said he likes him, and that he believes people can learn from AEW’s system.

On Owen Hart finalist Maya World: “I think Maya World has done a great job and really, really earned a great place in AEW.”

Khan credited the round cage that debuted at Forbidden Door to AEW executive Mike Mansury. He said that they named the cage “Death’s Door” and are open to bringing it back.

Mercedes Moné discussed why she continues to use Eddie Guerrero’s Three Amigos in her matches, talking about the influence he had on her career:

“Every time I wrestle, I feel like he’s with me … He’s the one that made me be the wrestler that I am today, when I watched him, when I was 10 years old. Every time that I hit the Three Amigos, I look up to him, because I would not be here without him. It’s so crazy that he’s still so a part of my life and my wrestling career. I still look up to him, even though he’s not with us.”

Moné, who won the women’s Owen Hart tournament on Sunday, said she doesn’t fear a potential title match against Thekla at All In: “You mean, is she ready for me? Do you think I’m scared of a spider that’s five-foot?”

Thekla, who showed up to the press conference wearing the Starlight Kid mask she stole earlier in the night, admitted that she didn’t watch the Owen Hart Tournament Finals and didn’t know what to make of Moné’s comments on her: “Did she win? I didn’t watch.”

Will Ospreay mentioned that the main thing pushing him to keep going in the main event was his motivation to get In-N-Out burgers afterward.

Ospreay said wrestling for the AEW World Championship at Wembley Stadium will be the biggest moment of his career.
