Former Triple Crown Champion Joe Doering will be honored at an upcoming AJPW event.
AJPW announced Wednesday that a memorial service for Doering will take place at their July 19 card at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Doering passed away at 44 years old last week following a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
A large part of the Chicago-born talent’s career took place in AJPW. He debuted for the company in 2007, and continued to work for over the next decade. He held the brand’s Triple Crown belt for a combined 315 days between two reigns and went on four campaigns with the AJPW World Tag Team Championships.
Doering spent the final years of his wrestling career on the U.S. indies, along with a brief stint in TNA Wrestling. His last match was in August 2022.
