Callum Newman hasn’t changed his G1 Climax plans since sustaining an injury during last month’s Dominion event.
New-Japan Pro Wrestling has not officially given an update on Newman’s status for G1 Climax 36, which begins on July 11 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He did claim in a social media post that he would do the G1 with one arm if he had to.
However, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion posted an update on his Instagram story.
Dislocated shoulder. Bone bruise. Rear dealt and tricep damaged. Still gonna win the G1.
Going off his post, it does seem like Newman will participate in the G1. He’s scheduled to face Yuya Uemura in B Block action.
Newman hasn’t officially returned to the ring, but he remains active on social media. He reacted to Will Ospreay wearing a Death Riders patch on his gear on this week’s Dynamite: “That’s twice now. Your a joke.”
