Callum Newman has no plans on missing the G1 Climax despite sustaining an injury this past Sunday at New Japan’s Dominion event.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion suffered a shoulder injury during the main event in Osaka against Yota Tsuji. Newman stated after the match, “Shoulder is f**ked thanks Yota.”

Newman has been announced as a participant in the upcoming G1 Climax, which begins July 11 and runs until August 16. Newman wrote a follow-up, stating, “I’ve got a point to prove. I’ll do the G1 with one arm if I have to.”

Newman is not advertised for any of New Japan’s Road to G1 Climax shows before July 11, when the G1 kicks off in Chicago.

NJPW has yet to comment on Newman’s injury and its severity.
