When Raw moved to Netflix, WWE fans believed that the show would be allowed to do more beyond TV-14 restrictions, but that hasn’t been the case.
WWE reportedly made the move to censor blood from the Bron Breakker-Seth Rollins steel cage match on Night of Champions. Breakker’s face was blurred, and alternate broadcast angles were used to not show Breakker’s face. The edit was not made on the ESPN live broadcast.
There was another case of censorship from this week’s edition of Raw, where Brock Lesnar wore a “Talk Sh*t Get Hit” shirt. It seemed like the shirt was already censored, but on the Netflix replay, the word “sh*t” was digitally removed, and alternate angles were used to not show Lesnar.
Shots of Oba Femi also were shown, as opposed to reaction shots from Lesnar during Femi’s promo.
Fans have continued to point out that Netflix airs much more bloody and explicit content, especially in their own-produced content. However, WWE seems to be excluded from that for unknown reasons.
