STARDOM concluded its month-long 5 Star Grand Prix on Sunday with the nineteen-year-old Rina coming out the winner.
The final night of the tournament saw the semi-finals and final take place from Ryogoku Kokugikan a.k.a. Sumo Hall in front of an announced attendance of 5,004 (it second largest attendance of the year behind All Star Grand Queendom, which was the record for the promotion with 8,015)
The show opened with several matches airing free on Stardom’s YouTube channel, including the semi-final contests. It opened with Starlight Kid defeating World of Stardom champion Suzu Suzuki to advance to the evening’s final. Rina got past Maika in the other semi-final, with both matches clocking in at just under seventeen minutes each.
In the main event, Rina defeated Starlight Kid using the Pink Devil in a twenty-seven-minute affair.
Rina, 19, debuted at the age of ten after being trained by the late Hana Kimura. She is the twin sister of Hina and younger sister of Hanan, who both compete in Stardom. Rina is currently a member of H.A.T.E.
The tournament began on July 18 with 32 participants across four blocks. Rina competed in the A Block of the Red Stars section and finished with nine points in the round-robin stage. She qualified for the playoff round and defeated Rina Yamashita, Konami, Maika, and Starlight Kid to become this year’s winner.
It was announced on Sunday that Stardom will return to Yokohama Arena on April 25, 2027, for its annual All Star Grand Queendom event.
