Jim Ross returned to the podcast chair this week and provided fans with an update on how he’s been since brain surgery.
The 74-year-old, who recently underwent a mandatory procedure to remove fluid from his brain, revealed on “Grilling JR” that a mass was found on one of his kidneys after an oncology appointment. Ross was understandably nervous, but alleviated fans’ concerns when he noted that the oncologist doesn’t think he has cancer.
… The oncologist thinks I don’t have any cancer, but they’re not sure. There’s a lump there. It may be cancerous, but it’s so small they can operate on it and eliminate it. The last thing I want to do is get cancer surgery and then go back to the frigging hospital for a few days. …
He admitted that it was good news to hear that but talked about how he couldn’t sleep the night before his appointment. Ross underwent colon cancer surgery last year and has battled skin cancer in the past.
Ross admitted he’s been suffering from “prominent and bad” headaches and that he suffered a fall, breaking a bench that his late wife Jan bought for him to help him get into bed easier.
Because he is a fall risk and due to his health issues, Ross’ doctors cautioned against traveling to the United Kingdom for AEW All In: London since they don’t want him to fall on the plane or to suffer an emergency far away from home. Ross understood the warnings but was still “disappointed” to miss a big show.
Ross appeared at Double or Nothing in New York this year but suffered a fall on his way to the event.
