“The Octopus” is bringing a new wrestling promotion to the independent scene in 2027.
Jonathan Gresham announced Monday that he will unveil a new promotion titled Round 1 next year. The technical wrestling star said this week that the company will use a “Modern Age Grappling” style.
The new project, being made in association with Orange Crush’s PRODUCE company and 1 Fall Wrestling, will host its debut event on January 9 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gresham said in a trailer for the brand that he won’t unveil all the company’s details just yet.
Former ROH and TNA talent Gresham made his return to the ring earlier this year, getting back to performing after suffering a pair of strokes in 2025. He has since become a force on the indies once again, making appearances in spots like GCW, Maple Leaf Pro, and BEYOND Wrestling.
Now, he’ll be stepping into a promoter role with a new brand, which he says is inspired by the fighting style he has presented.
