MJF wants a piece of this year’s G1 Climax winner.

The former AEW World Champion called out Ryohei Oiwa on Wednesday night, delivering his message via video package during today’s NJPW Road to King of Pro Wrestling card in Korakuen Hall.

While Oiwa was ringside to support his TMDK teammate Zack Sabre Jr., a video played in Korakuen Hall which saw MJF call him out for a future match. In the video, MJF said he would wager his “Triple B” title – a championship not officially recognized by AEW that he has been carrying to claim he’s the best.

“Oiwa. Are you a chubby little child? In my opinion, yes. However, also in my opinion, I believe you’re the best New Japan has to offer. So if I end you, I’m one step closer to locking the Forbidden Door, to ending New Japan Pro Wrestling, to ending Japanese wrestling fandom as a whole, because let’s face it, it’s a blight on our society. Grip? We’re going to see who the real king of the headlock is when I beat you smack-dab in the middle of the ring with a headlock takeover.”

The promo was a rare appearance from MJF, who has been out of the spotlight on AEW programming for weeks. His last match was part of this year’s Casino Gauntlet match at All In: London just over a month ago.

MJF didn’t put an exact date on when he’d like to face Oiwa. We know for sure that it won’t be at King of Pro Wrestling, as Oiwa is already scheduled to take on IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji in the main event of that show.
