Mike Bailey became the third entrant in AEW’s Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream, with five qualifying matches announced for Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision show.
Bailey defeated Lee Moriarty on Saturday’s Collision: Grand Slam France, which was taped on Tuesday at Adidas Arena in Paris.
Moriarty attempted the Border City Stretch and a rear-naked choke during the closing stretch before Bailey recovered with a superkick and Ultima Weapon for the pin.
AEW World Champion Will Ospreay came to the ring afterward to congratulate his United Empire stablemate. Bailey joins Ospreay and Samoa Joe in the eight-man match, with Joe qualifying Tuesday by defeating Jack Perry.
AEW subsequently announced that the remaining five places will be decided on Wednesday:
- TNT Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Hechicero
- Ricochet vs. Ace Austin
- Konosuke Takeshita vs. Brian Cage
- Adam Copeland vs. Josh Alexander
- AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Myron Reed
Allin and Okada will therefore defend their respective championships while attempting to qualify.
Two other WrestleDream matches were finalized on Collision. Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron defeated Sisters of Sin and Divine Dominion to earn a Women’s World Tag Team Championship match against Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor.
Andrade El Idolo also retained the AEW National Championship against Michael Oku before being confronted and attacked by Tommaso Ciampa, setting up their championship match at the pay-per-view.
