Kenny Omega challenges Yota Tsuji, Boltin Oleg to three-way match for NJPW Power Struggle Hiroshima

Shortly after making his unexpected return to NJPW on Monday night, Kenny Omega outlined his path towards regaining the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Omega challenged defending champ Yota Tsuji, calling him out shortly after he defeated Ryohei Oiwa in the main event of this year’s King of Pro Wrestling card. But, Omega wasn’t the only challenger. Also appearing in the ring to face off with Tsuji was Kazakhstan’s Boltin Oleg.

Considering he finds himself in a race with Oleg to earn a title shot, Omega suggested that the three of them face off as part of NJPW’s November 3 Power Struggle card in Hiroshima.

During backstage comments on Monday, Omega specified that the three-way would be a non-title match. Should be or Oleg emerge on top following the showdown, they would have a case at a future title opportunity against Tsuji, he explained.

“Even a non-title three-way will be fine,” Omega said, per a translation from NJPW commentator Chris Charlton. “It can be one match, or it can be two. I will be the champion. We can do the three-way as a non-title match, but if I get the fall on either one, I get a title shot.”

Omega hasn’t wrestled in Japan since the first and only Wrestle Dynasty card in 2025 from the Tokyo Dome, when he took on Gabe Kidd in a 31-minute grudge match. He has made sporadic appearances since dropping the AEW World Championship to Will Ospreay at All In earlier this year.

Omega noted in his backstage comments that, after losing the AEW world title, gaining the top IWGP belt in his “second home” would mark a return to form for him.
