Semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic set for next week

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is down to four teams after Tuesday’s quarterfinals matches.

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno advanced to the semi-finals, defeating BirthRight’s Charlie Dempsey & Lexis King in the first of two quarterfinal matches on NXT this week.

Zilla Fatu ran down to the ring to get involved as Wagner hit King with a Michinoku Driver, and Galeno followed with a Frog Splash to grab the victory. Fatu continued his attack and struck Dempsey with a pop-up Samoan drop.

In the final quarterfinal match, Hank & Tank defeated The Creeds. The heels had the heat on Tank for a long portion when Hank received the hot tag. Hank hit Julius with a swinging side slam and headed to the floor, where the two took out Brutus. Hank & Tank hit a running powerslam and shoulder tackle combo on Julius as Tank made the cover for the victory.

The AAA tag team champions will now meet Hank & Tank in the semi-finals. On the other side of the bracket are NXT tag champions, The Vanity Project, and their opponents, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar.

The semi-final matches will take place next Tuesday.
