A special Wednesday night edition of NXT is scheduled to be a big one.
A grudge match, the finals of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, as well as a special appearance from WWE star John Cena have all been confirmed for NXT’s November 3 episode. While NXT typically airs on Tuesday nights, next week’s show is being moved ahead so the show can avoid going head-to-head with midterm U.S. election coverage.
This year’s Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals will see former tag champs Hank & Tank face the up-and-coming duo of Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar.
Hank & Tank took down current AAA champs El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno on Tuesday night, punching their ticket to the tourney finals. Earlier in the night, Dar and Moreno pulled off an upset when they beat The Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes in the other semi-final.
The winning team will have the trophy presented to them by Cody Rhodes.
Also on next week’s show, Dion Lennox and Cruz Montana will rematch in an unsanctioned bout. After a heated match between them last week ended in Montana getting escorted out of the building by security, NXT General Manager Robert Stone refused to sanction a second meeting between them. Instead, he offered to let the match go ahead, but unsanctioned by WWE.
It was also revealed that Cena will make an appearance next week. Cena is notably also expected to appear on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. He has teased that the Raw appearance will be related to the upcoming John Cena Classic tournament, which puts rising names against vets in a tournament format.
Here is everything we know about next week’s show thus far:
- Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno (Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals)
- Dion Lennox vs. Cruz Montana (Unsanctioned Match)
- John Cena to appear
