Kento Miyahara retained the Triple Crown championship on Thursday over Naomichi Marufuji in the main event of All Japan’s Super Power Series card at Korakuen Hall.

Marufuji earned the championship match by winning the Champion Carnival tournament in April and defeating Miyahara in the final.

The match went 25 minutes and 52 seconds and was the perfect length, never dragging, and peaked during the final sequences with several huge near falls that ended with Miyahara hitting the Shutdown German Suplex Hold.

Earlier in the match, Marufuji blasted Miyahara with a kick on the floor with Miyahara going down holding his eye. Marufuji then relied on a headlock for several minutes and immediately re-applying the hold when Miyahara escaped.

In the same spot from the Carnival match, Marufuji hit Miyahara with a piledriver on the edge of the apron, which is even crazier because Marufuji executes it with his back to the ropes and facing out to the audience.

Marufuji applied the cobra clutch triangle, released it land a Ko-oh knee and followed with a shiranui that Miyahara kicked out from. This is where the near falls took place and led to an incredible exchange of knees, including both going for a flying knee at the same time and blocking the other one. Miyahara dropped Marufuji with three consecutive knees for a big near fall before the match-ending Shutdown German.

Miyahara celebrated in the ring and was challenged by Dylan James for the next title defense.

Below are the results from the show:
*Yohei Nakajima over Ishikiri
*Jun Akiyama & Osamu Nishimura over Takao Omori & Masa Fuchi in the Jumbo Tsuruta Memorial Match
*Suwama, Shuji Ishikawa, Hikaru Sato & Atsushi Aoki over Joe Doering, Zeus, Atsushi Maruyama & Black Tiger
*KAI, Tajiri & Kotaro Suzuki over Ryoji Sai, Keiichi Sato & Dylan James
*Jake Lee & Koji Iwamoto over Yoshitatsu & Naoya Nomura
*Kento Miyahara over Naomichi Marufuji to retain the Triple Crown
