The UFC is preparing to close out 2018 with a fight amongst the two best female fighters in the world.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN reported Wednesday that UFC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes have agreed to fight for Justino’s featherweight title at UFC 232 on Saturday, December 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Arena.

The fight has been rumored throughout the year with the two sides at odds over when the fight would take place with Nunes pushing for the end of the year and appearing to have received her wish.

The 33-year old Justino became the women’s featherweight champion in July 2017, defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 for the vacant title, which was left idle after Germaine de Randamie opted not to defend the title. Cyborg has won championships in the UFC, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce and gone unbeaten since her pro debut in May 2005. She is regarded by most as the top female fighter in the industry.

Nunes became the women’s bantamweight champion in December 2016, stopping Ronda Rousey in 48 seconds at UFC 207 in Rousey’s last fight before leaving the sport. Nunes has won her last seven fights, most recently stopping Raquel Pennington this past May at UFC 224.
