This week’s schedule at POST Wrestling

A look at the highlights of the past week at POST Wrestling and this week's schedule, including the return of Ask-A-Wai and Jan Murphy stops by the Café Hangout.

This week at POST Wrestling, we will have a full slate of shows coming out, including our monthly ASK-A-WAI special to close out the week on Friday.

Last week, we had our first POST Wrestling Black Friday Sale at store.postwrestling.com with 25% off all items using the code word “Double Shot”. The sale wraps up today if you want to grab an item.

Over the past week, some highlights included:

*A extensive look at the AAA & IWC When Worlds Collide pay-per-view from November 1994, which was chosen by Espresso Executive Producer Robert Holzhammer. In addition to our review, we also chatted with Rob Bihari (@RobViper), who is an expert on Lucha and discussed the time period, putting everything into context, the legacy of Art Barr, AAA’s many attempts to break into the U.S., and how WCW promoted this show. We are attempting to introduce new elements to the Rewind-A-Wai shows and when it’s feasible on our end, it’s great to have an additional interview on the show so I was very happy with this one.

*I also did an impromptu show with Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie & USA Today after we watched the Golden Boy pay-per-view with Tito Ortiz knocking out Chuck Liddell. I want to apologize for the original audio file that didn’t sound great for numerous listeners. Wai was able to figure out it was a phasing problem, so it sounded okay for some (including me) but not for others. The file was fixed, and you can hear the show properly.

*I also wanted to make mention of the DOUBLE SHOT last week, which clocked in at two hours, easily our longest edition of the Double Shot. It turned out that a lot of people enjoyed it and we had many interesting shows to discuss with the WWE Network releasing the specials on Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles, the Nick Gage vs. David Arquette match that received tons of publicity from Game Changer Wrestling, and Wai checked out several new digital series the WWE has put with the Celtic Warrior Workout that Sheamus hosts and Talking Snack with Cathy Kelley. Again, this show is one of my favorites to have a forum to chat about certain events and shows that don’t fit on the other shows we put out.

*Finally, if you haven’t been listening to EGGSHELLS with Chris Charlton, it’s a great resource by isolating each year wrestling has taken place at the Tokyo Dome and breaking down that era and what was happening with the key stars. This week’s show featured Mike Sempervive of Wrestling Observer Live to discuss Wrestle Kingdom 5. This show featured several TNA performers on the card, including Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam when the promotions were working together, and the biggest beneficiary may have been Toru Yano (listen to find out why).
