WWE announces WrestleMania 36 for Tampa, Florida

The WWE held a press conference in Tampa, Florida to confirm that WrestleMania 36 will take place at Raymond James Stadium in April 2020.

The WWE held a press conference Thursday morning to formally announce that WrestleMania 36 would take place from Tampa, Florida.

The show will take place on Sunday, April 5th, 2020 at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. The stadium has previously hosted the Super Bowl in 2001 and 2009 and will host it again in 2021.

In the press release, they noted that in addition to WrestleMania, there would be four of live events with SmackDown Live (which will be airing on Fox), the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT TakeOver, and Monday Night Raw.

Hulk Hogan started the press conference and discussed WrestleMania coming to his hometown and his matches with Andre the Giant and The Rock at past WrestleMania events.

WWE’s Executive VP of special events John Saboor, Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, Roman Reigns, Titus O’Neil, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Charlotte Flair, and Paul Levesque were among the speakers.

This will be the fourth time that the state of Florida has hosted WrestleMania and the first time in Tampa.
