On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, they announced that Jeff Hardy will require surgery and the Hardys vacated the SmackDown tag titles.
Hardy said he would be “gone for a long time”, but did not specify the injury, although it is believed to be a right knee issue. In the storyline, they are attributing the injury to an attack by Lars Sullivan.
The Hardys had only held the titles for three-weeks, defeating The Usos on the April 9th episode of SmackDown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
They announced that Randy Orton, Andrade, Finn Balor, and Ali would be the SmackDown performers in the Money in the Bank Ladder match. The four join Raw performers Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin in the eight-person match.
