This weekend will be amongst the busiest this year with All Elite Wrestling presenting All Out from the Sears Center. We will have a POST Show immediately after the show with Wai Ting and I discussing it in detail.
If you are in the U.K., this weekend features several huge events with New Japan holding their Royal Quest card from the Copper Box Arena in London. That show features Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP heavyweight title against Minoru Suzuki, a British heavyweight title match between Zack Sabre Jr. and Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Tomohiro Ishii vs. KENTA for the NEVER Openweight title. That show goes up against the NXT UK TakeOver show from Cardiff, Wales with WALTER vs. Tyler Bate in the main event of that show.
Martin Bushby and Jamesie of the British Wrestling Experience will have a POST Show up Sunday morning. They will review both cards and touch on the Rev Pro Summer Sizzler show that takes place on Friday from York Hall.
This week also sees the end of the Cruel Summer with this excellent series wrapping up with looks at the finals of the 2017 and 2018 G1 Climax tournaments. WH Park has gone above and beyond with this intricate look at each tournament dating to 1991. These shows will exist in eternity in our archives, and I feel they are a fantastic companion for each G1 with some of the top voices in the industry (and myself).
On Saturday’s Cruel Summer, Joel Abraham returns to chat with WH about the 2017 final between Kenny Omega and Tetsuya Naito. The final episode runs Sunday, and I’ll return to speak about last year’s G1 where Hiroshi Tanahashi met Kota Ibushi in the final at Budokan Hall.
