Wednesday night’s cable numbers are in with AEW outdrawing NXT, although suffering a notable decline from last week’s figures.

AEW, which put forward a well-received show from Texas, was down 12% in total viewers and dropped 17% in the 18-49 demographic.

For the two-hours, Dynamite averaged 817,000 viewers on TNT and was their lowest mark of 2020 and was tenth for the night on cable.

NXT averaged 757,000 viewers on the USA Network, which included a five-minute overrun. The show was immediately followed by Miz & Mrs. that did 757,000 viewers and a 0.16 in the main demo.

AEW and NXT went against the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers game on ESPN that did 878,000 viewers.

AEW took big hits among the 18-49 demo with men down 18% and females dropping 14% from last week’s episode. The biggest declines were among the 12-34 audience as women fell 38% and males dropping 36%.

NXT won with adults over 50 as usual but also edged out AEW with women 18-49 and the sides tied with women 12-34, which was due to AEW’s gigantic drop from last week while NXT did the exact same in the demo as last week. It was the first time NXT won the female 12-34 demo since December 18, 2019, which was the episode featuring Shayna Baszler vs. Rhea Ripley that NXT won the night in viewership and with the 18-49 demo.

This follows the major angle last week to end the show with Cody receiving ten lashes from MJF, which got over big.
